Glacie Bean

Glacie Allene King Bean, 84, of Asheboro, died on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at her home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 15, 2019, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Ed Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Pisgah United Methodist Church Cemetery. Glacie was born on March 5, 1935, and was the daughter of the late Lola Lee King and Lucy Mae Voncannon King. She graduated from Seagrove High School in 1953 and was retired from Acme-McCrary Corp. after over 52 years. She loved spending time with her family, especially her nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, who she treated as her own. In addition to her parents, Glacie was preceded in death by her husband, Lindbergh Bean; brother, Reggie King; and her brother-in-law, Phil Gillispie. Surviving are her brother, Morris King and wife Rhonda of Asheboro; sisters, Shirley Gillispie of Seagrove, Pauline Smith and husband Archie of Star, Bertie Brewer and husband Larry of Asheboro; niece, Amy Cruthis; nephews, Paul Smith, Roger Smith, Keith Gillispie, Ricky Gillispie, Danny King, Greg Brewer, Mark Brewer, and several great nieces and great nephews. The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 14, 2019, and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Pisgah UMC, Cemetery Fund, 5995 Pond Side Drive, Asheboro, NC, 27205.
