George Harrison "Butch" Lowery, 75, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 22, 2022, at Greater St. John's Baptist Church, where he was a member, with Rev. Joseph Kearns officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Butch was born in Randolph County on August 24, 1946, the son of the late John Calvin and Callie White Lowery. He was retired from United Brass and had worked at G.E. / Black & Decker. He was a member of Mason Oakland Lodge #501 for 30 plus years. Butch enjoyed golfing and bowling. Survivors include his wife, Billie Femister Lowery of the home; daughter, Lakitia Lowery; son, Je'mal Lowery; "adopted son" Ringo Morrison; sister, Beulah Everett; grandchildren, Alicia, Malcolm, Kyosha, Destiny, Genesis, Mardicia, A.J; nieces, Jackie Taylor, Dana Everett; nephew, Chuckie Everett; and cousin, Le'Conte Coble. Mr. Lowery will lie in repose from 1:15 p.m. - 1:45 p.m. at Greater St. John's Baptist Church on Monday prior to the service. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the staff at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home for their care shown to Butch.
