Geneva Ann Garner Nance, 88, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 15, 2016, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Johnson and Rev. Arnold Luther officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. Born April 6, 1928 in Moore County, Mrs. Nance was the daughter of the late William Lewis and Ettie Williams Garner. She retired from the Asheboro Fire Department and after retirement she worked at Ridge Funeral Home. Mrs. Nance was an active member of Central Wesleyan Church for over 80 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Spencer A. Nance; sisters, Faye Golien, Dorothy Williams and Alice Brown; and brothers, Roy Garner and Melvin Garner. Mrs. Nance is survived by her sons, Dennis Nance and wife, Glenda of Spartanburg, SC, Gary Nance of Greensboro; grandson, Spencer J. Nance of Hartsville, SC; sisters, Mary Jane Williams and husband, Dolen of Asheboro, Theresa Whitehead of Ramseur; and special friend, Odell Parks. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Ridge Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Randolph SPCA, 300 W.
