Gene Mcdowell

Clifton Eugene "Gene" McDowell, 83, of Asheboro, NC, died Friday, November 21, 2014, at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home in Asheboro. A graveside service is scheduled for 12:00 pm Monday, November 24, 2014, at Randolph Memorial Park with Ken McDowell officiating. A native of Randolph County, Mr. McDowell was born October 1, 1931. He was the son of the late Auby McDowell and Lennis Byerly McDowell. He was retired from Eveready Battery. Mr. McDowell is survived by his wife, Patricia Trotter McDowell, of the home; daughter, Wanda Parker and husband, Donald, of Denton; sister, Mattie Mae Swaney, of Denton; grandson, Garret Parker and wife, Ellie, of Asheboro; and great grandchildren, Sam Parker and Charlie Parker. The family will receive friends from 10:30 am - 11:30 am Monday, November 24, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
