Gayle Nichols

Gayle Monroe Nichols, 61, of Nichols-Cranford Road, Denton, NC, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro, with Rev. Chris Smith and Rev. Alan Caesar officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery, Denton. He was a native of Randolph County, NC, born August 3, 1953 to his parents, Kenneth Monroe and Betty Davis Nichols. He was a 1971 graduate of Southwestern Randolph High School and also completed additional education at Randolph Community College. He was a dependable employee of Energizer Battery Company for 37 years, working in their maintenance department. He was of the Methodist faith and a proud member of the NRA. He is preceded in death by his father and his son, Brandon Gayle Nichols. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Roberts Nichols, of the home; daughter, Misty Gayle Nichols and son-in-law, Ronald Mize, Jr. of Denton; mother, Betty Davis Nichols, of Denton; sister, Deborah Boles, of Asheboro. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, and other times at the home. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the many friends, family and loved ones that have given their time these past days, as well as the staff of Hospice of Randolph County.
