Garland Jacob Cole, 87, of Asheboro, died Friday, October 20, 2017 at the Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 23, 2017 at Center Cross Baptist Church Cemetery, Asheboro. Born on February 1, 1930 in Randolph County, NC, Mr. Cole was the son of the late William Webster Cole and Hattie Ann Imper Cole. He was retired from Kayser-Roth and was a bus driver for Carolina American. He loved his family, traveling and country music. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughters, Vickie Lambeth, Jeanette Solesbee; brothers, Willie Cole, Earl Cole, Bobby Cole, Warren Cole, Norman Cole; and sisters, Evelyn Williamson and Rosa Cole. Surviving are his wife, Thelma Cole of the home; daughters, Gwendolyn Freeman of Asheboro, Wanda Taylor and husband, George of Greensboro; sons, Carson Hurley of Summerfield, Ronnie Solesbee of Asheboro, Sean Harris of the home; sisters, Eunice Gee of Salisbury, Jean Redding and husband, Sam, of Salisbury, Dorothy King of Asheboro, Opal Ingram and husband, Bob of Salisbury, Agnes Nixon of Asheboro; twelve grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
