Fred Borchert

Mr. Frederick Walter Borchert, III, 68, of Harmony, NC, died Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. A private memorial service will be held. A native of Santa Monica, CA, Mr. Borchert was born April 11, 1943. He was the son of the late Frederick Walter Borchert, Jr., and Shirley Marlis Stevens Borchert. He was a member of the North Iredell American Legion Post #113, and a member of the Ground Pounders Trike Club in Statesville, NC. He enjoyed woodworking, mechanics and working with his hands. Mr. Borchert proudly served in the US Navy for 20 years and retired as a Nuclear Electrician Senior Chief Petty Officer (SCPO). Mr. Borchert is survived by his wife, Martha "Lavi" Borchert, of the home; sons, Frederick "Rick"� W. Borchert, IV, and wife, Annette, of Asheboro, NC, Steven Borchert and wife, Cristina, of Fort Defiance, VA; grandchildren, Frederick W. Borchert, V, Evangeline Borchert, Steven Borchert, Trevor Borchert, Kayla Borchert and Jace Borchert. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 515, Asheboro, NC 27204.
