Mary "Frances" Stevenson Wood Beal Richardson, of Sophia, NC, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 10, 2015 at Woodland Hill Center in Asheboro, at the age of 76. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 16, 2015, in the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro. Pastor Barry Presnell will preside over the services. Burial will follow the service at Randolph Memorial Park. There will be a fellowship and celebration of "Mama " Frances' life held at the fellowship hall of To God Be The Glory Church on Chestnut Street, Asheboro, immediately following the burial. Frances was a native of Randolph County, NC. She was "Front-End" manager for the Food Lion at Highway 42 and 64 for many years. She was also a long distance truck driver and later retired as a dispatcher for Royal Tours. She was a faithful member of To God Be The Glory Church, where she served as Treasurer until her health declined. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Eva Stevenson. Frances is survived by her daughter, Karen Wood Nash and husband, Larry, of New London, NC; sons, Steven Wood and wife, Qua, of Asheboro, NC, Timothy "Terry" Wood, of Sophia, NC, Robert "Rocky" Beal and wife, Connie, of Randleman, NC; grandchildren, Tabitha Auman and husband, Steve, Travis Kennedy, Dennis Nash, Brandon Wood and wife, Christina, Adam Wood and wife, Heather, TJ Wood and wife, Elizabeth, Timberly Wood and Justin Green, Tyler Robinson, Tiffany Turner and husband, John, Christopher Cameron; great grandchildren, Amber Auman and fiancé, Drew Garrett, Nick Auman, Kris Auman, Matthew Flinchum and Teagan Kennedy, Carissa Briles, Peyton Larrimore, Hunter Wood, Alivia Wood, Courtney Craven, Olivia Craven, Brayden Turner, John Turner; great-great grandson, Tozzi Garrett. She is also survived by her precious church family, Pastor Danny Jarrell and wife, Kathy. Last but not least, her furry four-legged family - Candy, Allie, Baylee, Dusty and Murphy. The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at Ridge Funeral Home, and other times at the home of Steve and Qua Wood, 1016 Redwood Drive, Asheboro. Granddaughter Timberly spent many hours with Mama Frances during her illness and was a special blessing to her during that time together. Her son, Terry, is thankful for the five years he had living beside her, caring for her. Her son, Rocky, and great grandson, Nick, did not leave her side from Wednesday until her passing. Thanks to all the special ladies at Woodland Hill who cared for her, and also to Hospice of Randolph. Mama Frances will be missed by all who knew her. To love her was to love her.
