Frances Shaw Lamb

Mrs. Frances Juanita Shaw Lamb, 92, of Asheboro, NC, died Friday, August 1, 2014, at North Pointe Assisted Living. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Sunday, August 3, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Leonard Atkins and Rev. Ed Burns officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery in Asheboro. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mrs. Lamb was born January 10, 1922. She was the daughter of the late Claude Braxton Shaw and Laura Ann Strider Shaw. She retired from Jockey International and attended Asheboro Pentecostal Holiness Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lamb; granddaughter, Julie Stewart; brother, Dallas Shaw; and sister, Bertha Shaw. Mrs. Lamb is survived by her daughter, Faye L. Goins and husband, Kenneth, of Asheboro, NC; sons, Darrell Lamb, of Sophia, Edwin Lamb and wife, Irene, of Sophia, Tommy Lamb, of Asheboro, Mitchell Lamb and wife, Brenda, of Asheboro; grandchildren, Glenda Hutchins, Kevin Lamb, Sharon Maness, Debbie Lamb, Brea Lamb, Michael Lamb, Jeff Goins, Kristie Burns; 18 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Saturday, August 2, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home of Mitchell and Brenda Lamb and at the home of Edwin and Irene Lamb, 1848 Foxfield Road, Sophia.
