Frances Cross

Frances Younts Cross, 78, of Asheboro, died Monday, April 9, 2018 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 13, 2018, at West Asheboro Church of God with Rev. Matt Gunter officiating. Burial will follow at Tabernacle United Methodist Church Cemetery. Born July 4, 1939 in Davidson County, Mrs. Cross was the daughter of the late Woodrow and Grace Younts. She was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church and was retired from Casual Crates Furniture. Mrs. Cross loved her family and enjoyed cooking for them. She was at her best when she was caring for others. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Frankie Cross; and her son, Mitchell Cross. Survivors include daughter, Cheryl Cross Watson (Tom) of Farmer; daughter-in-law, Caroline Cross Crawford of Star; sisters, Vivian Swaim (Bobby), Wanda Hill (Bobby), all of Thomasville; brother, Woody Younts (Phyllis) of Farmer; grandchildren, Frankie Watson (Kathryn) of Trinity, Chris Watson (Nicole) of Trinity, Jacob Watson of Farmer, Mitchell Cross of Star, Grace Cross of Star; great-grandchildren, Landon Watson, John Luke Watson, Kaylee Watson, Mason Watson, Krista Garner; several nieces and nephews; and life long friend whom she loved like a sister, Becky Kindley Sumner. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph County, PO Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204.
