Frances Corine Layton Harrington Cooper, 85, of Asheboro, passed away Monday, April 12, 2021, at her home. A private graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at Suggs Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Charles Reeder officiating. Born September 4, 1935, in Guilford Co., NC, Mrs. Cooper was the daughter of the late Worth and Nellie Mae Manuel Layton. She was retired from Hooker Furniture. She enjoyed going to the farmers market and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cooper was preceded in death by her husband, John Cooper; brother, Worth Layton; and grandsons, John Harrington, Jr. and Travis Singleton. She is survived by her daughter, Iris Joyce (Chris) of Ramseur; sons, John Harrington of Asheboro, Dennis Harrington (Kay) of Lewisburg, TN; grandchildren, Scotty Harrington, Christy Nunes, Tabbetha Baer (Sam), Rhonda Wall, Brandon Harrington (Jordana); ten great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Cooper will lie in state from 12:30 until 2:15 p.m., Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Ridge Funeral Home. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Lisa Hurley and the nurses and staff at StayWell Senior Care for the care given to Frances.
