After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Frances McNeill Blanton, 81, a wonderful and much loved lady gained her wings on January 15, 2020. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 18, 2020, at Mountain of Faith Christian Church, Asheboro, with Rev. John Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Frances was born to the late Roy and Lucille McNeill of Seagrove. After graduating she married the love of her life in 1957. She worked at several hosiery mills and Hancock Hams. Then she traveled in a big rig around the U.S. hauling heavy equipment before they both became employed by D.H. Griffin Company. Here they moved from state to state depending on where the job was. She seemed to be always packing and moving, but was at home wherever dad hung his hat. She enjoyed many sights while traveling and they both enjoyed several cruises. She was a member of Mountain of Faith Church and loved being there in the past few years. Her hugs will be dearly missed. At retirement they chose to live in Florida on a golf course where she enjoyed playing golf and developed many new friendships. She is preceded in death by her parents; a son; brothers, Elvin and Junior McNeill of Seagrove; son-in-law, Joe Elberson; and her beloved husband of 53 years, J.C. Blanton. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Elberson; grandsons, Adam (Tasha) Elberson, Jake (Carrie) Elberson, both of Asheboro; great grandchildren, Cammy, Eli, Branson, Ava, Anika; sister, Loberta Rush of Liberty; brother, Ray (JoAnne) McNeill of Haines City, FL; sisters-in-law, Bobbie McNeill King of Seagrove, Patricia (Milton) Cole of Rocky Mount, Lynda (Sherill) Curtis of Lowell, Mass, and Sharon (Todd) Richarson of Denton; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved Boston terrier, Patches. The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 17, 2020, and other times at the home. In lieu of flowers if you wish, please make donations in her memory to Hospice of Randolph County, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204 The family wishes to thank the Hospice Staff that helped them through this time. They are truly all angels on Earth. "Well done good and faithful servant" - Matthew 26:23
