Fran Davis

Frances Yow Davis, 89, of Denton, died Thursday, June 4, 2015 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Monday, June 8, 2015, in the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Hosler and Rev. Greg Arnold officiating. Burial will follow at Gravel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Denton. Born in Forsyth County, NC on August 2, 1925, Mrs. Davis was the daughter of the late Marvin Claude Yow and Gracie Mae Manuel Yow. She was formerly employed with the High Point Furniture Market, NCNB and First National Bank. She retired in 1990 as Assistant Vice President of Randolph Bank & Trust. She enjoyed singing, gardening, cooking, camping and being a "Grandmama" and "Mimi" to her seven great grandchildren. She was also known for her "Minnie Pearl" skit and volunteer service in the community for many years. Mrs. Davis was a member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church, active in the Farmer community Bible study for ladies, and the ministries of Green Street Baptist Church in High Point. She was a pillar of the community. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, Gurney Wyatt "Jack" Davis, Jr.; her daughter-in-law, Lynda M. Davis, and her granddaughter, Elizabeth Davis; and five sisters. Surviving are her son, Eddie Wyatt Davis, of Denton; sister, Peggy Kiser, of Pfafftown; brother, Marvin C. Yow, Jr., of Clemmons; grandsons, Andrew Wyatt Davis, of Denton, Martin Edward Davis and wife, Patty, Jonathan Murphy Davis and wife, Kara, all of Asheboro, Nathan Stuart Davis, of Denton; great grandchildren, Alexandria Davis, Julianne Davis, Mariah Davis, Chance Davis, Wyatt Davis, Kayla Davis and Johnathan Davis. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, June 7, 2015 at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O.
