Floyd Edwards Lyons

Floyd Edward Lyons, 86, of Asheboro, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Salisbury National Cemetery. A native of Carter County, TN, Mr. Floyd Lyons was born April 9, 1929, the son of Robert and Annie Lyons. He attended Lakeside Park Church of God in Ramseur and was retired from Bemburg Manufacturing in Elizabethton, TN. Mr. Lyons served in the U.S. Navy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Lyons was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert and James Lyons; and stepson, David Anderson. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Etta Lyons of the home; daughter, Patti Cardin; sons, Dennis Lyons and Buster Lyons; brothers, Vernon, Bobby and Junior Lyons; five grandchildren and special grandson, Toby Anderson; six great-grandchildren including Thomas Anderson and Annabelle Anderson, who he taught to high-five. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, prior to the service and other times at the home.
