Faye L. Carter

Mrs. Faye Harriet Lassiter Carter, 83, of 6087 Lassiter Mill Road, Asheboro, NC, died Thursday, May 13, 2010, at Randolph Hospital Inc., Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 16, 2010, at Strieby Congregational United Church of Christ, where she was a member, with the Rev. Robert Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Faye (Foye) Lassiter Carter was born in the Farmer Community on May 22, 1926 to the late Harris and Cora Lassiter. Foye joined Strieby United Church of Christ at an early age. She attended Central High (Randolph Training School) in Asheboro, NC. Always being a free spirit, Foye moved to New York to make her own life. There she attended secretarial school and was employed at Con Edison. Foye loved to travel and spent her free time vacationing and shopping. Proverbs 22:6 states: "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when they are old they will not depart from thee."� After Foye's retirement she moved back home to care for her mother. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Elbert Lassiter, Sr. She leaves to cherish her memory, her brother, Max Lassiter, one niece and six nephews, numerous family & friends and a devoted friend, Frank Saunders. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the home of Elbert & Rose Lassiter, 2472 Wood Stream Lane, Asheboro.
