Faye Bunting King Austin, 72, of Asheboro, NC, died Friday, June 9, 2017 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 12, 2017, in the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro. Officiating will be Pastor Wayne Eller. Burial will follow at New Hope Memorial Gardens. A native of Randolph County, Mrs. Austin was born January 14, 1945, the daughter of the late Samuel and Clara Ozment Bunting. She was a 1963 graduate of Asheboro High School and had worked at Black & Decker and Knorr Foods. Mrs. Austin was a devout Christian. She loved gardening, her weekly lunches with "the girls", family gatherings and playing a second mom to all the neighborhood kids. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Austin was preceded in death by her husband, Dewitt Austin, her sisters, Kat Kennedy, Ruby Parkin, Margie Palmer, and brother, Buck Bunting. Survivors include her sons, Tony Benson King and wife, Nara, of Thailand, Brian Lee King, of Asheboro; grandson, Brandon Lee Richardson; sisters, Pansy Harrington and husband, Barry, Sue Allen and husband, Larry, Deb Murray and husband, Johnny, all of Asheboro; brothers, Gene Bunting and wife, Nancy, Bill Bunting and wife, Carolyn, all of Asheboro, and her precious Yorkie, Charlie. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, June 11, 2017, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
