Evelyn Tillman

Mrs. Evelyn Virginia Lovell Tillman, 93, of Asheboro, NC, died Tuesday, September 20, 2011, at her residence. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Thursday, September 22, 2011, at Asheboro Friends Meeting with Rev. Ken Thames, Rev. Pat Thames, and Rev. Karl Luff officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Asheboro. A native of Stokes County, NC, Mrs. Tillman was born August 25, 1918. She was the daughter of the late Sanders Franklin Lovell and Clemmie Virginia Mickey Lovell. She graduated from Grey's Chapel High School in 1936. She was a member of Asheboro Friends Meeting and an avid gardener. She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Hubbard Tillman and son, John Sanders Tillman. Mrs. Tillman is survived by daughters, Carol Bullins and husband, Jerry of Asheboro, NC, Joan Hacke and husband, Harold, of Rohnert Park, CA; sister, Dixie Lovell Pritchard and husband, Truman, of Asheboro, NC; brother, Daniel Wayne Lovell, of Ramseur, NC; grandchildren, Ray Lambert and wife, Jill, Holly Bullins and husband, John Archer, Bryan Tillman Hacke and wife, Rebecca, Tiffany Hacke O'Neil and husband, Eric, Scott Tillman, and Ginny Kirby and husband, Dylan; great grandchildren, Jackson O'Neil, Faith O'Neil and Georgia Hacke. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
