Evelyn Nance Stout

Mrs. Mary Evelyn Nance Stout, 79, of Asheboro, NC, died Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at The Randolph Hospice House. A private service will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2012, at Guilford Memorial Park. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mrs. Stout was born August 31, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Everett Henry Nance and Chloe Callicutt Nance. Mrs. Stout was retired from the Guilford County School System. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and spending time with her grandchildren. She had very strong Christian beliefs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Shelley D. "S.D." Stout, Jr. and her brothers, Dempsey Nance and Truman Nance. Mrs. Stout is survived by children, Michel Brett and husband, Jerry, of Wilmington, NC, Van Stout, and wife, Nita, of Summerfield, NC, Jeanne Stout, of Marshall, NC; brothers, E. A. Nance, Ira Nance, and Clinton Nance, all of Asheboro, NC; sisters-in-law, Martha Nance, of Asheboro, NC, Beatrice Nance, of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren, Ryan Craven, Shelley Craven, Jason Brett, Justin Brett, Andrew Stout, Kristi Stout, Caleb Stout, Alexandra Goins, Nathan Goins; great grandchildren, Noah Brett and Brooks Brett. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Friday, March 16, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Randolph, PO Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204.
