Evelyn Joyce Trotter Davis, lovingly known as "Sunshine" from her days working at Black & Decker, 82, of Randleman, passed away Saturday, January 25 at her residence.
Born January 14, 1943, in Surry Co., NC, Ms. Davis was the daughter of the late George and Rachel Poole Trotter. A devoted follower of the Lord, she spent her days deeply connected to her faith, often found reading her Bible and sharing its wisdom with others. Later in her career she went to work at Clapp's Nursing Home, where she brought comfort and joy to the residents by reading scripture and offering words of encouragement.
Her love for gardening was evident to all. She knew how to make things flourish from her remarkable "green thumb." She was also known for her love of shopping.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Davis was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Trotter Shook.
She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Joyce Arnold (Tim) of Silver Valley, Judy Garland Cagle (Gary) of Kernesville; sons, Kenneth Wesley Richardson (Cassandra) of Randleman, Timothy Wade Richardson (Dee) of Asheboro, Dwaine Lewis Richardson of Asheboro; sisters, Jessie Trotter Clark of Maiden, Ellen Heffner of Taylorsville; brother, Charlie Wayne Trotter of Newton; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Ridge Funeral Home where words of prayer and remembrance will be held.
