Eugene John Savchak

Eugene "Gene" John Savchak, Jr., 74, of Randleman, died Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 6, 2019, at Landmark Baptist Church, Asheboro, with Rev. Frank Barrett officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. Born in Robeson County, NC, on November 29, 1944, Gene was the son of the late Eugene John Savchak and Ruth White Savchak. He was retired from the US Postal Service and a faithful member of Landmark Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and working in the yard. Mr. Savchak served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his sister, Freida Basinger. Surviving are his wife, Carol Latham Savchak, of the home; daughter, Elisha Savchak-Trogdon and her husband Justin, of Randleman; son, Eugene John Savchak, III, and wife April, of Randleman; sister, Barbara Craven; four grandchildren, Lucas, James, Clementine, and Scarlett. The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2019.
