Ethel Poole VonCannon, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, 91, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 2, 2017, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Randolph Memorial Park. Services will be officiated by Carl Nelson, Jennifer Grady and Mary Hammack. Born April 26, 1926 in Wind Gap, PA, Mrs. VonCannon was the daughter of the late Horace and Minnie Poole. A resident of Randolph County, she was retired from General Electric, after her retirement she worked for CAP Program at Randolph Hospital. In addition to her parents, Mrs. VonCannon was preceded in death by two sisters, Verta Mae Coltrane, Alma Craven; and one brother, Roy Poole. Survivors include her daughters, Helen Loflin of Denton, Vella Perkins and husband, David of Asheboro; sons, Dennis VonCannon and wife, Barbara, and Elton VonCannon and wife, Carol, all of Asheboro; grandchildren, Greg Loflin, Sally Loflin Shuskey, Sonja Hughes, Shad Loflin, Martin VonCannon, Sharon Powel, Sarah Branson, James East, Elton East; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Ridge Funeral Home.
