Esther Cooper

Esther Marie Robbins Cooper, 78, of Asheboro, NC, died Sunday, November 15, 2015 at her home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at Rushwood Church, Asheboro, where she attended with Rev. Jason Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, Asheboro. A native of Randolph County, Mrs. Cooper was born January 24, 1937, the daughter of the late Dolph and June Hughes Robbins. She had worked at Acme-McCrary and later retired from Klaussner Furniture. After retiring she worked for the Asheboro City Schools. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cooper was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Cooper, and her sisters and brothers, Helen, J.T., Calvin, Linda and Mary. Survivors include her daughters, Gina Mendenhall and husband, Gary, of Siler City, Tina Johnston and husband, Russell, of Thomasville; son, Robbie Cooper and wife, Lori, of Asheboro; brother, Coy Robbins, of Asheboro; grandsons, Jimmie Robert Johnston, Franklin David Johnston; step granddaughter, Annie Bell Bray; special niece, Deanna Richardson; special great niece, Dayanna Richardson; and many other nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Rushwood Church, 1810 Old Farmer Rd., Asheboro, NC 27205, or to Hospice of Randolph, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204.
