Erwin Bryson Gordon

Mr. Erwin Bryson Gordon, 91, of Asheboro, NC, died Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at The Meadows of Rockwell. A graveside service was held on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at Oaklawn Cemetery, officiated by Dr. Richard Crider. A native of Union County, NC, Mr. Gordon was born June 9, 1921. He was the son of the late Lewis Hoyle Gordon and Mae Erwin Gordon. Mr. Gordon retired from Griffin Implement Co. as the Personnel Manager. In later years after moving to Asheboro, he worked for Ridge Funeral Home. He was a graduate of Wingate College, was a mason and active member of Rotary. Mr. Gordon served in the US Army Air Force during World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Thompson Gordon; and brothers, Richard Gordon, Kenneth Gordon and Howard Gordon. Mr. Gordon is survived by his sister, Beth Simpson, of Monroe, NC; brother-in-law, J.I. Thompson and wife, Alice, of Rockwell, NC; sisters-in-law, Selma Kivett, of Ramseur, NC, Opal Auman, of Asheboro, NC, and Betty Gordon, of GA.
