Ernestine Presnell

Ernestine Kennedy Presnell, 75, of Asheboro, died Thursday, March 24, 2016 at home. Memorial services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Monday, March 28, 2016, at Goodwill Christian Church with Melvin Morton officiating. Born at the family's home in Steeds, NC on April 4, 1940, Ernestine, known as "Teenie" by family members, was the fourth of seven children of the late Arlie and Esther Kennedy of Moore County. She was retired from Eveready Battery. She had endless love and devotion to her husband, children and dog. Earlier in her life, Ernestine shared her joy and talent by making cakes for her community friends and family, alike. More recently she enjoyed the occasional family outing to the beach and sitting on the front porch swing, humming inspirational tunes to her beloved dog, Sprinkle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Henry Presnell; sister, Dorothy Mae Graves; and brothers, Odell Kennedy and Billy Kennedy. She is survived by her daughter, Tammy McKee of Burlington; son, Anthony Presnell of Sanford; sisters, Linda Beane of Randleman, Carolyn Poole of Seagrove; and brother, Sidney Kennedy of Robbins. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Monday at Ridge Funeral Home, prior to the memorial service.
