Emmitt Carroll Albright

December 11, 1944 — May 27, 2021

Emmitt Carroll Albright, 76, of Asheboro, died Thursday, May 27, 2021 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 30, 2021, at Sawyersville Wesleyan Church, with Pastor Daniel Shuskey, Rev. Jeff Garner, Rev. Richard Loman, and Rev. He retired from Luck's in 2002 after 30 years of driving a truck. He worked part time as a show car driver for Roush racing. He never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew him. He was especially loved by and loved his girls, Wendy, Tommie Ann, and Cortnie. His grandchildren were totally the apples of his eye. He was proud to be a member of Sawyersville Wesleyan Church, where he was a trustee till his death. Carroll could often be found at church doing anything he could to fix whatever was not right. He was delighted to be the pastor's right hand man for the last several pastors. He never failed to say upon parting "I love you man" to his friends. Carroll grew up in Seagrove, on a tobacco farm, the son of a potter. He told his small grandson once, "I am an old man" - the little grandson said "Papaw, you're not an old man, you're a good man".... his legacy. In addition to his parents, Carroll was preceded in death by his sister, Doris Williams and brother, Arlie Albright. Surviving are his wife, Judy Floyd Albright of the home; daughters, Wendy R. Garner and husband Jeff of Asheboro; Tommie Ann Robbins of Asheboro; sisters, Eula McNeill of Seagrove, Edna Smith of Seagrove, Pat Upton and husband Jimmy of Seagrove; brother, Harold Albright and wife Marie of Seagrove; grandchildren, Cortnie Robbins whom he helped raised, Seth Garner, Ben Garner, Makayla Robbins, Callie Robbins, Jenna Garner; great grandchild, Fenris Stokley; special nephew and niece, Wally and Sandy Smith who helped care for him in the last week.
