Emma Hunt Thomas, 95, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at her home. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 29, 2021, at Huldah Baptist Church, with Rev. Tommy Brown and Rev. Tommy Walker officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Emma was born on March 13, 1925, in Randolph Co., to the late William Everette Hunt and Claudie Tero Trotter Hunt. She retired from Black & Decker after 30 years. She was an active member of Huldah Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Thomas; and 9 brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Linda T. Miller and husband Bruce of The Villages, FL; son, Lewis R. Thomas of Asheboro; sister, Mary Ann Green of Seagrove; brother, W.E. Hunt of Asheboro; grandchildren, Robin Navarro and husband Al, Lew Thomas and wife April, Emily Thomas, Garrett Thomas; great grandchildren, Alex Navarro, Daniel Navarro, Nathanael Thomas, Katelyn Suggs, Leah Suggs; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ms. Thomas will lie in state from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m., Thursday, January 28, 2021, at Ridge Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Huldah Baptist Church, 7187 Old NC Hwy 13, Asheboro, NC 27205.
