Mrs. Elsie Mae Forkner Klein, 86, of Asheboro, NC, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at her residence. A memorial service is scheduled for 3:30 pm Sunday, September 23, 2012, at Bethel Friends Meeting. A private family burial will be held at a later date. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mrs. Klein was born June 30, 1926, in Liberty, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Hobert Forkner and Myrtle Garner Forkner. Elsie was a graduate of Asheboro High School Class of 1945. In her early years she worked for Bossong Hosiery Mill in Asheboro. Elsie moved to California in 1962 and lived in Ventura, California for 40 years before returning to Asheboro in 2001. While living in California, she worked for the Ventura County Superintendent of County Schools, she retired in 1987. Elsie loved being a grandma to her only grandchild, Jack Edward Kehiaian. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Gus Klein; her beautiful daughter, Debbie Frye-Blick; brother, Sam Forkner; and sister, Lois Forkner. Elsie will be forever loved and remembered by her daughter, Sandy Kehiaian and husband, Scott, of Asheboro, NC; son-in-law, Bob Blick, of Elk Grove, CA; grandson, Jack Kehiaian; sister, Jeanette Hinshaw and husband Zim; brother, Bobby Forkner and wife, Mary Carol; sister-in-law, Josephine Forkner, of Durham, NC; nieces and nephews, Patti Bright and husband, Jeff, Scarlett Oakley and husband, Lowell, all of Durham, NC; Mike Hinshaw and wife, Jackie, Sandra Barrett and husband, Darrin, all of Asheboro, NC, Craig Forkner and wife, Akani, of Japan. Her family would like to thank Community Home Care and Hospice for all the tender loving care that Elsie received in her time with Hospice. Thank you is not enough to say to the fine care she received from Cathy Patterson, RN, Denise Austin, RN, and Samantha Kinney, CNA. Special thanks to the medical director of Community Home Care and Hospice, Beth Hodges, MD, who always went that extra mile in caring for Elsie. We believe there are Angels put on earth to care for our loved ones. The family was truly blessed the day Betty Conyers walked into our lives. She was Elsie's caretaker for the last five years of her life. Elsie touched the lives of the family of many people with her loving and caring ways. She will be forever missed and loved. We were all blessed to have known her and felt her love. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Community Home Care and Hospice, 533 S.
