Elizabeth Phillips Poole

Elizabeth Marie Phillips Poole, 94, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 11, 2016, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Jim Honeycutt officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. Born December 15, 1921 in Chatham County, Mrs. Poole was the daughter of the late Bradley and Flossie Gordon Phillips. She was a graduate of Bennett High School and a member of New Life Family Fellowship. Mrs. Poole was a homemaker and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon G. Poole; sisters, Marguerite Jones, Ovelia Lytle, Clara Mae Cain, Allena Grace Phillips; and brothers, Caesar Phillips and Henry Clay Phillips. Mrs. Poole is survived by her son, Phillip V. Poole and wife, Daynese of Asheboro; sister, India Craven of Ramseur; granddaughter, Amy P. Thomas and husband, Michael of Asheboro; and great-grandson, Kaleb M. Thomas. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home of Phil and Daynese Poole.
