Elizabeth Cheshire

Elizabeth Bridgers Cheshire, 83, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 14, 2016, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Fonner officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Memorial Gardens. A native of Bladen County, Mrs. Cheshire was born May 28, 1933 to the late Joseph and Celia Bridgers. She was the former owner and operator of Amanday Express and she attended Russell's Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl A. Cheshire. Mrs. Cheshire is survived by her daughter, Wilma Cheshire Britt of Seagrove; grandchildren, Amy Ray and husband, Tracey of Ramseur, Amanda Williamson and husband, R.J. of Seagrove; and great-grandchildren, Tyler, Tanner, Travis, Landon, Lauren; sister, Gloria B. Lupton of New Bern; brothers, James Bridgers of Clarkton, Robert Bridgers of Shallotte. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
