Edward R. Jordan

Edward Ray "Ed" Jordan, 83, of Asheboro, died Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at his residence. A memorial service will be conducted at 5:00 p.m Saturday, September 29, 2018, in the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro, with Dr. Brent Tysinger and Jerry Wilson officiating. Burial will be private in Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. A native of Randolph Co., NC, Mr. Jordan was born October 1, 1934, the son of the late Willie and Laura McNeill Jordan. He had attended Rushwood Church. He loved gardening and playing the guitar. He raised chickens and was an expert bee keeper. Mr. Jordan enjoyed woodworking and was a very industrious person. In addition to his parents, Mr. Jordan was preceded in death by his sisters, Edna Hayes, Mae Bray Dildy, Hazel Jordan, Nellie Irvine, Blanche Pegram; brothers, Lacy Jordan, Paul Jordan, Carl Jordan, and Clyde Jordan. Surviving are his sister, Mary J. Coltrane and husband, Gilbert, of Asheboro; special friend, Ola Mae Hulin; several nieces and nephews, that he was close to; and special pet, Sydney. The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m., Saturday, prior to the service at Ridge Funeral Home.
