Edsel Wade Gordon

Mr. Edsel Wade Gordon, 83, of Asheboro, NC, died Thursday, July 17, 2014, at his home. A funeral service is scheduled for 12:00 pm Monday, July 21, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Joe Farlow officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mr. Gordon was born June 13, 1931. He was the son of the late Vernon Jones Gordon and Dora Janette Bulla Gordon. Mr. Gordon was a member of the Charlotte United Methodist Church. He worked at Acme-McCrary, Klaussner and retired from Caraway Furniture. Mr. Gordon loved to travel, garden and go out to eat. He also enjoyed watching sports and had a special love for his animals. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Routh Gordon and brother, Vernon Maxton Gordon. Mr. Gordon is survived by his daughters, Dianne Gordon and Kim Gordon, both of Asheboro, NC; sisters, Barbara Hinson, of Randleman, NC, Frances McNeill, of Sophia, NC; brother, Donald Gordon and wife, Peggy, of Asheboro, NC and special children, Kari Jones, Lani Allred and Jonabeth Allred. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Sunday, July 20, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
