Edna W. Skeen

Mrs. Edna Windsor Skeen, 97, of 230 E. Presnell Street, Asheboro, died Sunday, March 7, 2010, at Randolph Health & Rehabilitation, Asheboro. Graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Oaklawn Cemetery with Dr. John Rogers officiating. A native of Rockingham County, NC, Mrs. Skeen was born on February 14, 1913, the daughter of the late Ed and Ida Powell Windsor. She was the former co-owner of Duchess Beauty Shop in Asheboro and she retired from Acme-McCrary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl C. Skeen; her sisters, Jewel Kanipe, Ruby Jones, Cassie Windsor, Pearl Windsor; and brothers, Esca Windsor and Ira Windsor. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her son, John E. Skeen, of Asheboro; granddaughter, Heather Gilmer and her husband Cholly, of Asheboro; grandson, Tyler Skeen and wife, Jodi, of Seagrove.
