Edna Burroughs King, 96, of Asheboro, passed away April 25, 2024, at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.
Graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Friday, April 26, 2024, at Oaklawn Cemetery, Asheboro, with Rev. Mark Beane officiating.
Born in Richmond County, NC, on March 13, 1928, Edna was the daughter of the late Clyde Wade Burroughs and Julia Marie Lefler Burroughs. She was retired from Black & Decker and attended First Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed reading, walking, traveling, and doing yard work.
In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by her first husband, Curtis Hatley, second husband, Cline King; and brothers, Clyde Burroughs, Jr., Howard Burroughs, Lacy Burroughs, Eugene Burroughs and James Burroughs.
Surviving are her sister, Doris B. Covington of Asheboro; nephews, Michael Burroughs (Kim) of Asheboro, Kevin Burroughs (Karen) of Mount Gilead, Len Burroughs (Mandy) of Jamestown; nieces, Beth Hall (John) of Mount Gilead, and Karen Lowder (George) of Richfield.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Edna's devoted caregivers, Emma Wansley, Vicky Drake and Samantha Cockman.
