Edith Parker Hancock

Edith Clara Parker Hancock, 92, of Sophia, died Wednesday, January 22, 2020, at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 27, 2020, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tony Fletcher officiating. Burial will follow at Back Creek Friends Meeting Cemetery. Edith was born on June 5, 1927, in Randolph Co., NC, to the late Roscoe Parker and Ettle Ridge Parker. She had been retired from Acme McCrary Hosiery after 62 years of employment. The joy of her life was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Mildred Rush of the home; grandchildren, Sherry Nichols and husband Roger, Terry Rush and wife Angela, Shaun Rush and wife Lisa; great grandchildren, Michael Trogdon, Erika Nichols, Ashley Nichols, Sarah Idol, Shelby Idol; and great-great grandchildren, Regan Smith and Remi Burger. The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, January 26, 2020. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O.
