Edgar Goins, 90, of Asheboro, died Monday, December 28, 2020 at his home. A private funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 3, 2021, at Spoons Chapel Christian Church with Pastor Isaac Fetterhoff and Pastor John Auler officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. The service will be livestreamed on Ridge Funeral Home's official Facebook page. Edgar was born on November 22, 1930 in Stokes Co., to the late Charlie Edgar Goins and Cora Bell Goins. He was an honored veteran who served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Edgar had retired from being a brick mason and a carpenter. He was a natural born salesman, who was known to be a "wheeler and dealer". Edgar was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and a great friend to many. He loved his church and church family. In addition to his parents, Edgar is preceded in death by his siblings, Dallas Goins, Myrtle Smith, Ruth Lineberry; and grandson, Kyle Richardson. He is survived by his wife Geneva Goins of the home; daughters, Anita Goins O'Donnell and husband Sean of Julian; sons, Michael Goins and wife Trina of Asheboro, Randy Miller and wife Liz of Asheboro; brothers, Elmer Goins, JK Goins; daughter-in-law, Jana Richardson; grandchildren, Christopher Goins, Dillon Goins, Alex O'Donnell; and great grandson, Kyle Richardson. Mr. Goins will lie in state from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m., Saturday, January 2, 2020 at Ridge Funeral Home.
