Eddie Darrel Dabbs, 68, of Asheboro, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro, with Rev. Mike McClure officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park.
Born in Bristol, VA on May 14, 1956, Eddie was the son of the late James William Dabbs and Bertha Newman Dabbs. He was retired from United Brass Works in Randleman, NC. Eddie, known as "Steady Eddie" since childhood, was gentle, patient, loving with a fantastic smile. He loved God above all and was devoted to his walk with Christ. Eddie enjoyed doing yard work, was a Tar Heel's fan, loved playing Scrabble, at which he was the reigning champion. He was also an aquarium enthusiast. Most importantly, Eddie was an incredible husband, phenomenal father, grandfather and great grandfather.
In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Surviving are his wife, Marian Dabbs; children, Jenny (Kyle), Emily (Deanna), John, Cameron, Dorothy (Dustin); siblings, Carolyn, Lewis, Christine; grandchildren, McKenzie, Kelsey; great grandchildren, Lily, Nora, Rhett, Addison and Lucy.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 23, 2025, prior to the service at Ridge Funeral Home.
