James Edward "Ed" Wright, 87, of Randleman, died Friday, October 2, 2020, at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 5, 2020, at Randolph Memorial Park with Pastor Jon Shook officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Ed was born on June 9, 1933, in Montgomery Co., NC, to the late George Henry Wright and Eva Mabel Mabe Wright. Ed had served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a member of Bailey's Grove Baptist Church and was a member of the Randolph County Honor Guard and the American Legion. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his sister, Verla Kennedy; and brothers, Billy Wright, Bobby Wright, Alvin Wright, and Henry Lee Wright. Ed is survived by his wife, Eloise Wright of the home; and daughter, Celeste Wright of the home. The body will lie in state from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Sunday, October 4, 2020, at Ridge Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Randolph County Honor Guard, PO Box 1672, Asheboro, NC 27204; or to Hospice of Randolph, 416 Vision Drive, Asheboro, NC 27203.
