Earlene Mcarthur

Elizabeth Earlene Wehunt McArthur, 92, of Randleman, died Thursday, April 29, 2021, at her home. Born on April 18, 1929, in Shelby, NC, Earlene was the daughter of the late Willie Raymond Wehunt and Rosa Mae Painter Wehunt. She had worked at Western Auto, Laughlin Hosiery Mill and Commonwealth Hosiery Mill. She was member of Level Cross Baptist Church. Earlene and her husband sang in the Level Cross Quartet for many years, traveling all over the Southeast. She volunteered for the American Red Cross for 35 years. Earlene also volunteer for the Randolph County Board of Elections and Level Cross Christian School. In addition to her parents, Earlene was preceded in death by her husband, John McArthur; sons, Gary McArthur, Tony McArthur; brother, Willie "Bill" Wehunt, Jr.; sister, Nell Webb; and grandson, Ronnie C. McArthur. Surviving are her sons, Ronnie H. McArthur and wife, Cindy of Randleman, Danny McArthur and wife, Mel of Franklinville, Dennis McArthur and wife, Pat of Ashland, AL; daughter-in-law, Donna McArthur of Trinity; grandchildren, Sharee McArthur, Paul McArthur, Ashton McArthur, April Brim, Robin Emmons; 13 great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 10:45 until 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, May 8, 2021, in Level Cross Baptist Church. A Graveside service will follow at 12:00 p.m., with Rev. Jerry Mills officiating. The family will be at the home on Thursday afternoon and Friday. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, 416 Vision Drive, Asheboro, NC 27203; or to Level Cross Baptist Church, 10167 US Hwy 220 Bus. North, Randleman, NC 27317.
