Earlene Conner

December 13, 1943 — May 29, 2015

Earlene Robbins Conner, 71, of Asheboro, graced the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 29, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 2, 2015, in the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel in Asheboro, with Rev. Junior C. Dawkins and Jody Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. Mrs. Conner was a native of Randolph County, NC, and was born on December 13, 1943, to the late Earl W. Robbins, Jr. and Mary Evelyn Fagge Robbins. She retired from the City of Asheboro from the Fleet Maintenance Dept. as an Administrative Assistant after 31 years of loyal service. After retirement she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Earlene also dedicated her time to helping others in Randolph County. She volunteered as a Guardian Ad Litem and was the former President of the Democratic Women of Randolph Co., a member of the Sew Busy Ladies sewing group and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary - Military Order of the Purple Heart. As a member of Worthville Baptist Church, Earlene sang in the choir, served as Assistant Treasurer and volunteered with their Food Bank. Earlene was always giving selflessly. She was passionate about spending time with her family, and truly loved going out to eat and fellowshipping with her friends. She leaves behind a legacy of Love, Kindness, Devotion and Generosity. She taught and influenced all of her children how to always put others first and love with all their heart. Mrs. Conner was preceded in death by her parents, and her twin sister Charlene Robbins Miller. She is survived by the love of her life, and husband of 50 years, Ed Conner of the home; her children, Andy Conner and wife Lori of Durham, NC, Traci Williams and husband Jody, and Don Cole and wife Cheri; all of Asheboro; Her grandchildren Cody, Levi, and Noah and Ben; Great-grandchildren Emmie and Logan. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday, June 1, 2015, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, 115 Sunrise Avenue, Asheboro, NC 27203. The family would like to extend our gratitude to the Oncology Staff at High Point Regional Cancer Center, and to the staff of Emerywood Oncology for their exceptional care of Earlene during her battle with cancer.
