Earl Allan DeLooze, 78, of Asheboro, NC, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at his residence.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 17, 2026, at St. John's Lutheran Church where he attended with Rev. Dr. Keith Less officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
Mr. DeLooze was born in Seneca Falls, NY, on December 9, 1947, and was the son of the late Raymond Glenn DeLooze and Virginia Mae Treulieb DeLooze. Throughout his life, Earl was deeply involved in his community and church. He sang in the choir and served on the church council, reflecting his commitment to his faith. Earl was also a veteran, proudly serving in the United States Navy for 22 years, which instilled in him values of discipline and dedication. His love for the outdoors manifested in his passion for fishing and hunting, activities he enjoyed throughout his life. Known for his skills as a handyman, Earl often worked on cars and took pride in being able to fix things around the house. In his leisure time, he found joy in reading, particularly enjoying the works of Tom Clancy. Additionally, he had a fondness for bowling, completing crosswords, and exploring historical topics, particularly those related to war and biblical history. Earl DeLooze will be remembered for his active lifestyle, love for his community, and the many interests that enriched his life.
In addition to his parents, Mr. DeLooze was preceded in death by his siblings, Marylin Tillman, Raymond DeLooze, II, Karl DeLooze, Karen George, and David DeLooze.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carolyn DeLooze of the home; daughter, Carrie Chriscoe (Jonathan) of Randleman; son, Jeffrey DeLooze (Sherry) of Smithfield, VA; grandchildren, Samantha Chriscoe, Savanna Chriscoe, Ean DeLooze; many nieces and nephews; and his favorite dog, Snoopy.
