Earl Sylvester Callicutt

Mr. Earl Sylvester Callicutt, 83, of Asheboro, NC, died Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at The Randolph Hospice House. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday, November 9, 2012, at Russell's Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Edwin Luther officiating. Burial will follow at Russell's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Asheboro. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. A native of Guilford County, NC, Mr. Callicutt was born August 11, 1929. He was the son of the late Erastus Sylvester Callicutt and Betty Rolella Marsh Callicutt. Mr. Callicutt was retired from Klaussner Furniture, a proud veteran of the Korean Conflict, and a member of Russell's Grove Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Callicutt was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Linda Tucker Darden; brothers. Alfred L. Callicott, Howard W. Callicott and Roy Callicott. Mr. Callicutt is survived by his wife of 60 years, Thelma Chriscoe Callicutt, of the home; sons, Gary L. Callicutt and wife, Marie, and Tony Callicutt, all of Asheboro, NC; grandchildren, Amy Asbill Moon and husband, Tim, Christine Asbill McNeill and husband, Dale, Gina Callicutt Grant and husband, Joshua, Tracy Callicutt Johnson and husband, Derrick, all of Asheboro, NC; great grandchildren, Ciara McNeill, Amber Moon, Nolan Moon, Isaac Johnson, Eli Johnson, Caleb Grant and Aaron Grant; brother, F. Wade Callicutt, of West Memphis, AR; sisters, Virginia Callicutt Leviner, of Siler City, NC, and Joyce Luther, of Asheboro, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Thursday, November 8, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
