Dwight Martin

Mr. William Dwight Martin, 56, of Raleigh, NC, died Monday, November 21, 2011, at The Randolph Hospice House. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:30 pm Sunday, November 27, 2011, at Look To Jesus Ministries with Pastor Dexter Trogdon Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Asheboro. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. A native of Moore County, NC, Mr. Martin was born September 1, 1955. He was the son of Benjamin Haywood Smith and the late Vilena M. Brown. Mr. Martin was a former police officer with the Asheboro Police Department and served in the US Army during the Vietnam war. Mr. Martin, in addition to his father, is survived by his wife, Rebecca Martin, of Raleigh, NC; daughters, Tina Martin, of Asheboro, NC, Tequila Spears and husband, Garland, of Statesville, NC; step-daughters, Lashawn Staten, of Jonesboro, GA, Lynn Marsh, of Greensboro, NC; son, William Justin Martin, of Asheboro, NC; sisters, Cheryl Smith, of Asheboro, NC, Vera McLaughlin, of Randleman, NC, Von Marrson, of Carthage, NC; brothers, Dough McLaughlin, of Ramseur, NC, Anthony Martin, of Woodbridge, VA, Michael McLaughlin, of San Antonio, TX, Raymond Smith, of Carthage, NC, Charles Smith, of Carthage, NC; grandchildren, DaKarius and Samia Alston, Janayah and Aloni Martin, Rozalyn, Narrya, Aubrei, and Garland Spears. The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm Sunday, November 27, 2011, at Look To Jesus Ministries.
