Dustin Wade Johnson, 27, of Greensboro, NC, died Thursday, January 1, 2015. His life was cut short by a tragic accident in Orlando, Florida, when he was celebrating the New Year. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, January 9, 2015, at 2:00 pm, at Hoover's Grove Wesleyan Church, Denton, with Rev. Larry Johnson and Rev. Alvin Wooters officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Dustin was born in Randolph County, NC, on April 9, 1987. He graduated from Southwestern Randolph High School. Dustin was the most caring, compassionate and loving person that parents or friends could ask for. He was known and loved by many. Those who knew him were touched by his willingness to help a person in need and his generosity for all. That generosity even extended beyond his time here on Earth when he gave the gift of life to four people. Right now, Dustin's heart beats on in a person who is no doubt grateful for his gift. He will be missed and his light will forever burn brighly in our hearts. Surviving are his parents, Steve and Lynn Johnson, of Asheboro; sister, Kathy Johnson and fiance, Josh Martindale, of Seagrove; brother, Charles Johnson and wife, Cindy, of Asheboro; grandparents, J. B. and Betty Hill, H. L. Johnson; nieces and nephews, Emmalyn Johnson, Aiden Cox, Jillian Johnson, Anthony Perez and Dawson Martindale; and partner, Gary Frazier, of Greensboro. Dustin will lie in state at Ridge Funeral Home from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm on Thursday, January 8, 2015 and at Hoover's Grove Wesleyan Church from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Friday, January 9, 2015.
