Duane Zorn

Duane Robert Zorn, 81, of Asheboro, died Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Universal Healthcare in Ramseur. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brian Gawf officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park with military honors presented by the Randolph County Honor Guard. A native of Monroe County, NY, Mr. Zorn was born March 16, 1936, the son of the late Chester and Phyllis Rayburn Zorn. He was retired from Eveready, served in the US Marine Corp., and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in New York. Mr. Zorn was an active member of First Presbyterian Church and loved gardening. He was an avid Nascar fan and enjoyed collecting model trains and cars. In addition to his parents, Mr. Zorn was preceded in death by his brothers, Dayle Zorn and Delmer Zorn; and his sister, Marlene Judd. Survivors include his wife, Betty Kearns Zorn of the home; daughter, Deborah Lynch and husband, Scott, of Asheboro; son, Steven Zorn of Winston-Salem; brother, David Zorn and wife, Bonnie of Brockport, NY; grandchildren, Jennifer Lowe and husband, Micah, Adam Levi Howerton and fianceé, Kelli Stockman, Kalie Lynch; and great-grandchild, Avery Lowe. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 9. 2018, at Ridge Funeral Home.
