Doug Wright

Douglas Eugene "Doug" Wright, 67, of Seagrove, died Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Terry Kivett and Pastor Howard Moffitt officiating. Burial will follow at Seagrove Christian Church Cemetery.

Born July 1, 1958, Doug was a native of Randolph County. He worked at Energizer for 31 years and later moved to Proctor and Gamble. He also owned and operated D.E. Wright Electrical and was always a hard worker. His spare time was spent tinkering with anything electrical or had a motor or engine. Doug was a very strong-minded, highly intelligent, and was very caring and kind. He loved being goofy and making people laugh. Doug was a dedicated and loving husband, father and papaw. Above all he deeply loved the Lord and his family. Doug was truly a fantastic person.

Doug's father, C.K. Wright preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Melesa Wright of the home; daughters, Nicole Gallimore (Ricky Gillispie) of Seagrove, Brooks Wright (Jeffrey 'Opus" Miller) of Asheboro; mother, Barbara Smallwood of Texas; sister, Cathy Causey (Todd) of Asheboro; brother, Robert Wright of Asheboro; granddaughter, Linzie Gallimore (Robert Hurley); "adopted" granddaughter, Alexandria Newell; and his fur baby, "Pippie."

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, December 13, 2025, Ridge Funeral Home.
