Dorothy Mae Williams Rummage, 77, of Asheboro, died Friday, June 4, 2021 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro. A funeral service will be conducted at 12:30 p.m., Sunday, June 6, 2021, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. Dorothy was born in Duplin County, to the late Melton Williams and Ruth Mae Whaley Williams. She was loved by everybody and never met a stranger. Dorothy enjoyed painting, jewelry, shopping at flea markets, spending time in the mountains, and collecting pottery, "knick-knacks" and "what-nots". She loved traveling with her husband, and being with her family. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Lee Rummage. "Maw", as known by most, is survived by her son, Ricky Rummage and wife Janis of Asheboro; daughter, Wendy Ingold and husband Brian of Asheboro; sisters, Betty Lanier and husband James of Beulaville, Patsy Baysden and husband Kenneth of Kinston; grandsons, Daniel Rummage and wife Brittany of Asheboro. Brad Gilmore and wife Brittany of KS, Todd Gilmore and wife Katie of KY; great granddaughter, Peyton Rummage; and great grandsons, Meade, Daxton, and Jett Gilmore. The family will receive friends from 11:30 until 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home of Rick and Janis Rummage.
