Mrs. Dorothy Cornelison Hill, 93, of Asheboro, NC, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014, at The Randolph Hospice House. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Sunday, May 4, 2014, at Crestview Wesleyan Church with Pastor Jerry Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Hopewell Friends Meeting Cemetery in Asheboro. Dorothy was born April 28, 1921, in Seagrove, NC to the late John R. Cagle and Arie Jordan Cagle. She was a charter member of Crestview Wesleyan Church where she had been a Sunday school teacher, served on the local church board, sang in the choir, was a past president of the Missionary Society, started Best Years Fellowship and remained very involved in all activities as long as her health permitted. One of her greatest ministries was visiting and helping the sick and shut-ins. In addition to helping others, she loved her flowers and gardening. She was previously employed at McCrary Hosiery Mill, Well Hosiery and Mid State Plastics. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Elvin Cornelison in 1964, Troy Allred in 1968, and Paul Hill in 1990; her daughter and son-in-law, Carol C. and Billy Belle; her brothers, Elvin, Roy, Frank and John B. Cagle; sisters, Wylma Patterson and Edna Juhan; step son-in-law, Paul Hansen; and step-grandson, Michael Schaaf. Those left to cherish the memory of Mrs. Hill are two daughters, Sue Cornelison Moore (Dempsey), of Asheboro, NC, Nancy Cornelison Abbott (Richard), of Charlotte, NC, step-daughter, Ruby Allred Hansen, of Randleman, NC; two grandchildren, Tami Belle Davis, of High Point, NC, Dr. Anthony D. Moore (Dawn), of Asheville, NC; two step-grandchildren, Robert Schaaf of Charlotte, NC, Gary Schaaf, of NY; two great grandchildren, Anna Moore, Joshua Moore, both of Asheville, NC; two step great-grandchildren, Crystal Neely, of OH and Troy Schaaf, of Charlotte, NC; and her very faithful and beloved dachshund companion, "Katie." The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Saturday, May 3, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
