Dorothy Green

July 24, 1927 — April 28, 2016

Dorothy Boykin Green, 88, of Asheboro, died Thursday, April 28, 2016 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 6:00 p.m., Monday, May 2, 2016, at North Asheboro Church of God with Rev. Scott Daniel and Rev. Billy Chriscoe officiating. A private burial will be held at Oaklawn Cemetery. Born July 24, 1927 in Fayetteville, NC, Mrs. Green was the daughter of the late William and Mammie Boykin. She was retired from Black & Decker and active member of North Asheboro Church of God. Mrs. Green was a former Sunday school teacher. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Green was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Green; and a sister, Mildred Callahan. Mrs. Green is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Jones and husband, Danny of Little River, SC, Teresa Daniel and husband, Scott of Asheboro; sister, Betty Auman of Asheboro; brother, William "Sonny" Boykin of Supply, NC; grandchildren, Amber Allred, Caleb Daniel, Holly White, Heidi Conner; and seven great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends following the service at the church and other times at the home of her daughter, Teresa Daniel. Memorials may be made to North Asheboro Church of God, 1373 Randolph Tabernacle Rd., Asheboro, NC 27203 or to Hospice of Randolph County, PO Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204.
