Dorothy Chavis, 44, of Asheboro, NC, died Monday, June 8, 2015 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 15, 2015, at Acts Temple CF Ministries with Pastor Mike Dixon officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Asheboro. A native of Richmond County, NC, Ms. Chavis was born August 19, 1970, the daughter of the late Clarence Chavis and Doris Ann Little. She had worked as a manager at Burger King, Bryan Center, Carolina Plastic and in-house daycare. She worked until her health failed and she became disabled. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and enjoyed cooking and feeding people. Survivors include her daughters, Keosha Goldston, of Asheboro, Laura Goldston, of Winston-Salem; son, Tyrone Goldston, Jr., of Winston-Salem; sisters, Clara Chavis, Stacy Clapp and husband, Rodney, all of Asheboro, Jeanelle Howard and husband, Jeff, of Temple, TX, Tina Spinks and husband, Tave, of Seagrove; brothers, Henry Little, Tony Chavis, both of Asheboro; and four grandchildren, Lakyah Alston, Sandra Alston, Aiyan Goldston, Aryan Goldston; and a host of extended family and special friends. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 15, 2015, at church and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to the Asheboro Kidney Center, 187 Browers Chapel Rd., Asheboro, NC 27205.
