Doris Murray

Doris Carol Chriscoe Murray, 71, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services have been postponed due to inclement weather. Mrs. Murray was born in Randolph County on January 11, 1945, the daughter of the late Carson and Agnes Juanita Parker Chriscoe. She was an excellent cook and had worked at several area restaurants including Blue Mist, Robin Hood and Dixie. She loved to cook and was a great homemaker. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Murray was preceded in death by her son, Ricky E. Cooper. Survivors include her husband, Ricky Smith, of the home; sons, Jeffery E. Cooper, of Oak Island, Brian K. Cooper and wife, Marcie, of Asheboro; sister, Peggy Shropshire, of Trinity; brother, Bobby Lloyd, of Archdale; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and her special cousin Chris McCracken. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 7, 2017, at Ridge Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204.
